There is currently a growing demand for natural-looking hair-like tattooed stroking in brows. Microblading is an age old Japanese method by which color is implanted into the skin using a hand-held (manual) tool comprised of very fine needles in the shape of a blade. The hair stroke-like impressions appear crisp and very fine, simulating the appearance of natural-looking hair and can match the growth pattern and color of the existing brows or augment a sparse brow. Although beautiful for a temporary amount of time, this is a very specific technique that does not have the sustainability of shading, stroking and combination techniques and not everyone is a good candidate for the procedure.
This result can also be achieved through the gentle art of Digital Microstroking. A process whereas the fine hair strokes are implanted into the epidermis using a digital device and very thin single needles. Both techniques produce beautiful natural results and can be employed in combination at the same session. Again, not all clients are good candidates for this procedure.
