As the popularity of permanent makeup grows, so does the number of new “artists” offering this service. It’s important for the consumer to know that there are no boards, certifications, governing agencies or standards in place in the state of California to confirm education and proficiency in this industry. A certificate on the wall simply states that they attended a class and/or have paid to be a member of an industry organization. Simply participating in a one or two-day course does not qualify as sufficient training or experience to begin practicing as a professional in the permanent makeup/microblading industry.
